The Wiener Kunst Auktionen GmbH was founded in the last days of December 1992. This was the name given to the new auction house by the founders at that time, Dr. Ernst Ploil, Michael Kovacek, Dr. Herbert Giese, Harald Schweiger, Kristian P. Scheed and Otto Hans Ressler.
